Summer Apprentices

ApprenticesIn the blink of an eye, we are saying farewell to the Crucian summer.  Fall however, is just as sweet. We wanted to take a moment to thank our team in the studio and store this summer. Thanks to Rivert, Marisol, Rhea, Danielle, and Abeje who all help make our shop a little brighter. We would like to introduce some new apprentices that started with us this summer. Sterling, Anais and Toni.

Sterling Gaston is a UVI student raised in Frederiksted, St. Croix. He has been a close friend of ours since he was a toddler. Toni Farchete, a UVI student raised in Christiansted, is also a close family friend. Toni’s dad, John, went to kindergarten with Nathan’s Dad, Brian. Anais is new to St. Croix, hailing from Brooklyn, NY by way of Puerto Rico. She teaches ballet and tap at Caribbean Dance School and graduated with an Art Therapy BA degree. All three apprentices are learning to craft jewelry with us. Summer gives us the opportunity to work on some new projects and ideas and sometimes we are lucky enough to work with new people. We usually have an intern or summer apprentice, but this year was unique in that two of them were able to continue into the fall season.

Anais and Sterling both have been able to continue part-time with us as their schedules allow, each adding their own unique perspective and energy to the studio and the art. Toni is in St. Thomas studying at UVI, but he will back to help us out at Christmas time.

We are well-equipped for a great holiday season!
