About Crucian Gold
Crucian Gold is a small family owned jewelry boutique store on the island of St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Thirty years ago, Brian Bishop began making fine Gold and Silver jewelry pieces inspired by his love for sailing and diving. Today the business has expanded to include Brian’s two sons, Nathan and Ben, as well as many new designs that these two have contributed. Many of Crucian Gold pieces have been inspired by the island itself.

For a long time now, anything or anyone indigenous to or pertaining to “St. Croix”; the largest of the entire United Sates Virgin Islands, has been termed ‘Crucian’. Crucian is also the name of a local dialect and most certainly the name of a very distinctive Caribbean culture.

All of Crucian Gold unique designs pay tribute to the beauty and history of the US Virgin Island and the Caribbean. Techniques like the art of knot tying (the Turkshead knot, Reef knot, Love knot and the Lanyard knot) have become a hallmark of Crucian Gold designs.

About Brian Bishop
Born and raised on St. Croix, US Virgin Islands, Brian chose to stay here and make St. Croix home. Brian’s love of sailing and diving became an inspiring tool for his jewelry. Trained as a professional industrial diver, Brian’s self taught jewelry skills were sought after. He started his career as a jeweler selling to friends and co-workers. Brian would walk around carrying a small Mahogany box with his Sterling Silver knot jewelry pieces. His craftsmanship is uniquely his own, reflecting his fine finished style. He started more than 30 years ago. And today, with the able help of his two sons Nathan and Benjamin, Brian designs and manufactures everything in Crucian Gold.
